Adolf Böhm (1861-1927) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. He was a founding member of the Vienna Secession and made many contributions to its magazine Ver Sacrum. He left the group in 1905 and helped found the Klosterneuburger Künstlerbund some of whose memebers included Egon Scheile. From 1910 to 1925 he was the professor of nudes and nature studies at the Vienna Kunstgewerbeschule.
