Die Fläche (The Surface) was a Viennese graphic arts periodical published in two volumes featuring the work of art nouveau artists associated with the Vienna Secession and Wiener Werkstätte. This cover design by Felician Baron Myrbach is one of the best designs form this beautiful and rare periodical. Jugend (youth) was a German art and humour journal first published in 1896. It employed some of the best graphic artists and illustrators and led to the creation of the style Jugendstil (youth style), German's equivalent of art nouveau.
